Prosegur is committed to sustainability by strengthening its supplier management with Gosupply

Prosegur apuesta por la sostenibilidad

International. Prosegur will support GoSupply to build a more resilient supply chain, through an exhaustive analysis of criteria, with a special focus on sustainability.

Prosegur has stated that it considers it key to have an adequate management of its supply chain to achieve a sustainable behavior of its business. To this end, it has developed a robust program with control and management policies and procedures.

Recently, Prosegur has started a collaboration with GoSupply for the homologation and risk monitoring of its more than 23,000 suppliers, of which more than 370 are located in Mexico.

This process, which as mentioned above addresses an exhaustive analysis, includes criteria such as financial aspects, sustainability, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity or geopolitics.

The company mentioned that during the first phase of execution "it already has the sustainability score analysis of the first 3,600 suppliers belonging to Spain, Portugal and Colombia".

Additionally, the company already has a complete risk analysis, including sustainability score, financial score, compliance score and geopolitical score, for critical suppliers.

Prosegur assured that, from this exercise, it has activated alerts and notifications of latent risk. "The agreement with GoSupply reinforces all the purchasing initiatives that the company has been developing since the new Sustainability Master Plan was approved by the board of directors at the beginning of 2021"

It is important to bear in mind that by October 2021 Prosegur updated its Purchasing Policy, a mandatory standard that applies to all acquisitions and contracting of goods and/or services, and which aims to ensure a standard sustainable procurement procedure, adequate expense management and protect the company and its stakeholders from potential risks.

Prosegur also includes supplier management in its Code of Ethics and Conduct. With this, the company assures that "it selects its suppliers according to criteria of independence, objectivity and transparency, reconciling its legitimate business interest to obtain the best conditions, with the convenience of maintaining stable relationships with ethical and responsible collaborators".

On the other hand, the company encourages the hiring of suppliers that meet Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility criteria, that promote and subscribe to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and that have some type of ESG certification, either through belonging to sustainable indexes, or through certifications in the matter.

"To ensure that these guidelines are met, GoSupply brings to Prosegur its in-depth knowledge in risk management and its extensive experience in supplier prequalification. In this way, the company supports Prosegur in building a more sustainable and resilient supply chain for its business."

Finally, the company assured that thanks to the combination of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, and information generated from multiple sources, it will be able to in real time the detail of all the threats presented by a provider and, depending on criticality, risk mitigation plans will be defined.

"In addition, all suppliers will receive their risk analysis and a series of recommendations for improvement, as well as a certification in case of receiving a positive assessment."

Curro Berral, Global Director of Media Management at Prosegur, stressed that "through this agreement with GoSupply we advance our ambition to build the most sustainable business model in our sector. And in this desire has an important impact the proper management of our supply chain. In addition, in this process of continuous improvement, we also want to involve our suppliers to achieve a positive impact beyond our organization."
