From the magazine Ventas de Seguridad we had the opportunity to interview José Luis about his appointment. These were the answers he shared with us.

VDS: What does the appointment as the new president of the Mexico chapter of ASIS International mean for you for the period of 2024?
José Luis: It implies a great commitment, but also a great satisfaction to serve this great ASIS association through an active collaboration with the entire Board of Directors.

VDS: What are the challenges of the Mexico chapter of ASIS for 2023?
José Luis: The main challenges are to preserve and increase the number of membership members through the academic offer of training and certification. The channels for this are dynamic interaction with partners through the active communities of each specialty, such as logistics security, women in security, armor, investigations, ESRM, security services (that is, guards), ITS, tourist security, executive protection, crisis management and young professionals, among others.

However, other challenges are, first, to promote official certifications of ASIS (CPP, PSP, PCI, APP) through training courses and orientation for applicants. Second, to offer current issues in monthly meetings, through high-level speakers, who share knowledge and experience.

VDS: What do you think will be the challenges you will face in 2024?
José Luis: The most important challenges I will face in my 2024 presidency will be the continuity of projects in 2023; make the association more inclusive and diverse, with respect to people and ideas; continue the excellent relations with ASIS International; maintaining the work of functional communities; increase the number of partners; improve business relationships with sponsors, under the premise of winning – winning; and, finally, generate 360 collaboration with other associations such as AMESP, AMEXSI, ALAS, SXM, ANERPV, C Logistics and Regional Missions, to name a few.
