International. A hybrid solar plant project, which represented an investment of more than US$32 million, featured the installation of 37 SCATI thermal cameras for the detection of failures in solar panels. The project is located in Mozambique.
The thermal cameras with different lenses are of the SET-14C10-EYA model and, additionally, the project received the installation of two 4 megapixel outdoor PTZ dome cameras.
These thermal cameras can detect hot spots that develop due to faulty cells in the solar panels. Changes in solar radiation intensity in solar parks can cause thermal anomalies that, if not carefully controlled, can have a negative impact on the entire module.
These thermal cameras allow you to view images under any light, climatological or environmental condition, offering great image quality. They also allow perimeter protection of the solar plant, managing to keep intruders or unauthorized people away and are able to detect fires by sending alerts in real time to be able to react in time, even managing to anticipate risk situations with maximum reliability.
These cameras are managed by a SCATI Fenix Video Management System (VMS) that allows a connection of up to 64 IP cameras and with a management capacity of up to 100 clients simultaneously through the SCATI Fenix CMS.
When a camera detects an uncontrolled heat source, it sends an alert so operators can verify it and take action to avoid incidents that can lead to millions in losses.
The project
The Government of Mozambique carries out the construction of this hybrid solar plant whose objective is universal access to energy by 2030. This hybrid solar plant is located in the city of Cuamba (Mozambique) and is the first project in the country to integrate a utility-scale energy storage system.
The design, supply and commissioning of this solar plant is executed by the Spanish company TSK, specialist in the execution of EPC or "turnkey" projects in the industrial, energy and environmental fields. For more than 8 years, TSK has been present in the country.
For the physical protection of this solar plant, TSK has the support of SCATI, manufacturer of intelligent video systems, with which it has been collaborating for years to protect the projects in which it participates.
The availability of SCATI recording systems allows the customer to access images, data and storage even in the most critical situations where servers can be disconnected.
SCATI offers an open and scalable solution that can be integrated with other systems so that the client can incorporate new video systems at any time without making additional investments.
