Balance of the year 2020 for SoftGuard

Daniel Banda - CEO SoftGuardLatin America. Daniel Banda, CEO of SoftGuard, took stock of what 2020 left for the company and highlighted the expectations they have for this new year. Here is your reflection.

2020, a year to remember

We can say that 2020 undoubtedly surprised us in a big way and challenged us to many changes. With the arrival of the Coronavirus, we had to adapt to isolation and organize ourselves into a new normal. The isolation imposed showed us that the work operation was not affected because the DNA of the company has incorporated the digitized management, with which the home office operation was coordinated, being able that all the areas of the company perform perfectly.

That was the first step, to continue with the work, then we had to organize the agenda of events, find a way to stay close to the industry, we were very aware that face-to-face was not an option so we were immersed in virtual platforms to create events. At the same time we understood that our Certifications for Administrators had to continue, so we put together everything necessary for our users and customers to receive the appropriate training on the SoftGuard platform.

The Coronavirus made us get down to work, we developed an application so that companies and public bodies can control the spread of COVID-19, that is how the Coronavirus Alert app was born, for the tracking of tourists and citizens infected with the virus, also used by public security forces and municipal officials. The Peruvian Navy is a resounding success story in the implementation of our Coronavirus Alert App protecting and facilitating the operations of more than 2,000 officers.

The Coronavirus Alert application was developed to provide nationwide coverage to report the symptoms that the user has and thus request the necessary assistance from the health authorities. When the person reports an emergency, it is accompanied by their satellite position so that help can find them quickly. Reported emergencies can be accompanied by photographs, audio and videos captured by the citizen and / or tourists, thus facilitating the understanding of the alert for more efficient attention.

The months passed, and as the opening of activities began, we noticed that the requirements for solutions focused on the safety of people have been increasing during the months of the pandemic, especially in public sectors such as municipalities and government agencies. From SoftGuard we are convinced that any city, large city or small town, can be a smart city or SmartCity as it is usually known in the field of security.

SoftGuard is an incubator of SmartCities under the premise that a Smart Municipality is a safe Municipality. This year we give a mention to the Municipality of La Banda del Río Salí, for being the first Municipality in northwestern Argentina to invest in technology and security for its citizens, becoming a success story.

Also in the middle of the pandemic, the Municipality of Perico, in the province of Jujuy in Argentina, became part of the SmartCities community of Argentina thanks to the implementation of SoftGuard's "Safe Municipality" program, where neighbors and merchants are protected and have the possibility of reporting emergencies to the urban monitoring center quickly and effectively.

We closed the year with a great live event with more than 1500 attendees. SoftGuard Talks was attended by great experts in their specialties: Jonatan Loidi, made us know the business world from an inspiring perspective; David Pereira addressed the issue of Cybersecurity; Marcos Sousa, left us a great teaching about emotional sales; Ely Magendzo, explained how to apply practical tools of Emotional Intelligence to enhance and empower work teams and Jonathan Baldovino, in his lecture gave a master class on how to enhance brands and increase sales on the Internet through content and eCommerce strategies.

In SoftGuard we are already thinking about a 2021 with a mindset from another era that without a doubt the biggest challenge will be to anticipate the needs of our customers, respecting our philosophy of innovating and always being at the forefront of advanced technology and bringing it closer to our customers. It is demonstrated that those who develop and implement technological tools have a greater possibility of growth and expansion.

In 2021, our focus will be on strengthening alliances and generating new ones with leading manufacturers and companies that accompany us in our philosophy of growing security companies, strengthening monitoring centers and developing more protected and safe communities.
