ALAS Management Summit aroused great interest in Miami

Latin America. On July 25 and 26, the eighth edition of the ALAS Management Summit was held in the city of Miami. The event had the expectation of continuing to grow with respect to its previous version, in which the 20 years of the Association were celebrated.

To begin with, speaking of numbers, the Summit had more than 300 attendees represented in more than 20 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Puerto Rico and Venezuela).

In the exhibition hall, there was the presence of 32 brands that showed their technological innovations to the attendees and were able to open and close businesses.  In addition, 10 media and allies also had their space to exhibit, added to the nearly 15 who joined the event in other face-to-face and non-face-to-face contexts.

The opening was in charge of the words of the president of ALAS, Francisco Ramírez, who highlighted the presence of the different personalities of the Latin American governments that were at the event, the representatives of various higher education entities and many more allies who answered the call of ALAS.

Success stories:

AVELLANEDA SAFE CITY, winner of the first place of ALAS awards in the Public category by Eng. Jorge Filippo.

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE WITH FACIAL RECOGNITION IN URUGUAYAN STADIUMS, winner of the first place of the ALAS awards in the private category, by Germán Ruiz and Matías Nogueira of Herta Latam.

As every year, the awards ceremony of the ALAS AWARDS was held, which seeks to recognize high-impact projects in the public and private sector in the region.

Also, the attendees joined the social responsibility activity, supported by Mission 500, which consisted of assembling backpacks with school kits for children with limited resources. These backpacks were delivered after the event to the Centro Campesino, in the city of Miami.

In addition, the new book by lecturers Marcos Soussa and the MIS Committee (women in the security industry) was launched by its president, Gavy Barret. We were also able to learn how the ALAS Mexico committee was formed and Al Portal was publicly recognized for its 42 years of experience and contribution to the industry.

All of the above shows that the Summit is an event that has many condiments and that is why it is so attractive for those who decide to say "present".

The balance of the event is highly positive for all those who were part of it, but of course, it leaves challenges to continue improving and consolidating it as one of the most relevant meetings of security in Latin America and the Caribbean.
