The winning companies in their categories were:

• Category Efficiency in the management of your IT: Telefónica Movistar Mexico
Telefónica Movistar is a multinational telecommunications company, one of the most important worldwide. Since last year, it began a project with Fujitsu for the administration of its Datacenters located in Santa Fe (Mexico City), Ixtlahuaca and Monterrey, in on-site and offshore mode. The objective was to transform its resources into value in terms of utility and guarantee, focusing on its achievement through an Efficiency Plan, based on the application of the best practices of continuous improvement in the monitoring of service levels with 24/7 coverage.

Fujitsu is responsible for the management of its centralized infrastructures, accompanying them in a transformation process that has gone from a face-to-face service model oriented to technical assistance, to one managed remotely, based on service levels and governed by ITIL best practices, international standards such as ISO 9000, or ISO 17799, LEAN and risk management.

Héctor Andrés Giménez, CTO of Telefónica Mexico, explained: "For Telefónica Movistar it has always been of great importance to form alliances with strategic players that generate value for the company, but more importantly, for our users. Integrating Fujitsu into our value chain makes us more agile, efficient and reaffirms the strength of the Telefónica Group globally."

• Supercomputing and Big Data Category: Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla
The Benemérita Universidad de Puebla has become a leading institution in the field of Supercomputing throughout the Republic. Currently, the National Supercomputing Laboratory of Southeastern Mexico (LNS) located at the university, has a supercomputer with Fujitsu technology, with a capacity of more than 200 TFlops, which has made it one of the 3 large centers in the country and the 5 most important in Latin America.

The LNS is a center that provides high-performance computing services for the development of scientific research, human resource training and technological innovation. It has been designed to provide researchers and engineers with a high-performance computational support, whose purpose is to increase competitiveness, as well as their capacity for innovation. The research being developed at the LNS is related to biology, pharmacy and physics. As an example, we could mention the binational project between Mexico and the United States of the HAWC observatory, located on the hill of "La Negra", near the peak of Orizaba, dedicated to the study of gamma ray bursts. And also, its collaboration with the Center of Excellence in Nuclear Medical Physics (CEFMN), especially in its project to fight cancer with proton therapy.

• Digital Transformation Category: GNP Seguros
The leading multi-branch insurer in the sector, bet during  2017 on maximum automation to achieve greater efficiency and measurements for continuous improvement, which ultimately point to a better customer experience. Digital transformation challenges included the design, execution, management and monitoring of automated business processes with advanced workflow capabilities.

In this context, it was necessary to coexist and integrate cloud services with pre-existing services supported by corporate applications. Therefore, Fujitsu's RunMyProcess solution was implemented, a cloud BPM that provided them with the necessary conditions to streamline and automate business processes, taking into account that they generate approximately 1,700,000 transactions per month. In addition, without compromising governance, security and compliance with the required service levels in a transparent and simple way.

With this project, GNP has been able to connect people, systems and data in real time, in a commitment to digital transformation that has resulted in an optimal experience with the end user, cost savings in printing and agility for decision making in different areas of the company.

Process efficiency in this digital age is supported by the implementation of disruptive technologies, while allowing us to provide an optimal experience for our customers and improve our competitive advantage in the market."
