Collaborative video surveillance. New Paradigm in Public Video Surveillance
In today's complex, anarchic and very dangerous world, the safety of citizens can no longer and should no longer be the sole responsibility of public safety authorities. It is necessary and indispensable for the improvement of our societies that we all participate in collaborating, supporting and complementing public security agencies and institutions in combating organized and common crime. Video surveillance systems are a universally proven tool used in the fight against crime and the reduction of it. Until now, existing technology has practically limited the use of this valuable security tool to public security agencies. Genetec's revolutionary new cloud video surveillance technology, Stratocast™, complemented by Federation™ As a Service, makes possible today the active participation of citizens in the use of video surveillance as a powerful anti-crime deterrent.
Collaborative Video Surveillance, is a citizen video surveillance program recently launched in the cities of Detroit, Sao Paulo, León, Guanajuato and others in the world with great success. In Collaborative Video Surveillance, citizens and authorities, leveraging on 911 infrastructure, use video in the cloud of security cameras in a collaborative and shared way at a very low cost for both. Instead of having only hundreds of cameras of the State or Municipality, limited to expand, due to the non-availability of budgetary resources, with the Collaborative Video Surveillance program opens the possibility of multiplying exponentially and being able to deploy thousands of cameras, owned by citizens. These cameras, monitored by public security authorities, ensure a preventive, immediate and adequate response to ongoing criminal incidents and events.
Retail Intelligence (Genetec Retail Sense)
Visitors will also be able to see Genetec's Retail Intelligence app, designed to help marketing and operations teams understand shopper behavior in the store. Genetec Retail Sense leverages existing investments in security infrastructures to provide powerful business insight. This new product brings together information and performance metrics from single or multiple stores and integrates with point-of-sale systems so that store traffic and conversion rates can be better understood and contextualized with a variety of other variables. Genetec's Retail Intelligence app ultimately helps retailers maximize staff efficiency, promotion effectiveness, drive traffic, customer privacy, and increase store profitability.
Security Center 5.6
Key new features include an updated and modern HTML5 Web client, new security hardware integrations to SimonsVoss electronic locks and mercury Security MS Bridge, and the ability to use boards as access control credentials with the new AutoVu™ SharpV camera. It will also showcase the latest capabilities of its Synergis access control system, part of its unified Security Center offering.
As a Mercury Security Platinum-Elite partner, Genetec now officially supports a new integration to the Mercury Security MS Bridge that allows organizations to economically migrate to an open and modern access control platform while protecting their existing investment.
Genetec will also introduce AutoVu™ SharpV, the automatic board recognition camera (ALPR) that offers unique physical access control features when combined with the Synergis Cloud Link device. Access to a facility through a gate can now be managed by granting or denying access based on vehicle license plates assigned to users as credentials, along with detailed access rights and schedules. In addition to controlling and monitoring peripheral access through the use of ALPR cameras as readers, organizations will benefit from additional information provided by ALPR analytics.
