SAFR, a facial recognition solution for live video from Real Networks, announced in early February the availability of its version 3.8. What are the new features that are incorporated into your benefits list?
This release of SAFR includes easy SSL support, updated enterprise capabilities, and improved ease of use for the console. Recall that SAFR's AI-powered recognition features a life detection in 0.3 seconds, allowing it to accurately verify and display the name of the matching person at optimal times.
SSL support: It is easier to configure secure SSL communication, as the need to register an SSL CERT and an associated domain was eliminated, since the generation of unique self-signed CERTs per implementation is now allowed, which are of secure use for client-to-server or server-to-server communication. Thus, the protection of data transit remains a priority.
Upgrading enterprise capabilities: You can manage all video sources from a single location, as well as service settings across all subsidiary servers, including event archiving, identity synchronization, data retention, email, and SMS notifications. This central control can be easily enabled or disabled, allowing you to have full domain from a central server whenever desired, so that the end user can view the status of all processes deployed on each server from any type of device, including mobile.
Console Usability: With version 3.8 the end user will be able to navigate the panel faster, as the SAFR Operator Console now features a matching association by color capability, additional anti-clutter capability, and quick access to live camera streams, via the alert panel.
This version also has the option to hide the age and gender metadata of the live monitoring tools, while continuing to use all the metadata available when searching the event history, as part of a forensic investigation.
Steven McMillen, Senior Director of Solutions Engineering at SAFR, commented, "Our latest release further enhances user interface usability while supporting a wider range of implementation applications." Finally, he added that "SAFR's code is lightweight, allowing it to take advantage of advances in GPU technology to give users more parallel processing power."
