International. IMB Bank in Australia installed a number of Boon Edam entrances, including all glass revolving doors, thin optical turnstiles and a revolving access door in its new building in Wollongong, New South Wales.
IMB moved into the new building in early 2021 and immediately sought to open the entrance and welcome visitors, with security at the entrance inside to protect valuable data, intellectual property and people. The Boon Edam technology that was selected is among the most elegant and efficient in the Boon Edam range and is used by leading banks locally, Fortune 500 companies globally and corporate headquarters in 27 countries.
The exterior of the building has two Revolving glass doors Boon Edam Crystal TQ, which create a surprising first impression. Inside the main lobby, there are three Speedlane Lifeline Swing optical turnstiles, including a wide lane suitable for disabled access. In another interior location, there is also a Winglock Swing access door that separates a designated meeting space.
Intuitive and welcoming solutions
"After reviewing a range of product proposals, we found that the Boon Edam range had the ideal combination of aesthetics and safety that IMB was looking for," said IMB's head of facilities, Greg Dowd. "Security turnstiles give us greater control over access to the building and alert us to any access or traffic violations. Limiting access only to authorized personnel not only protects our staff, but also protects our customers' data, which we always store securely. As an added bonus, the Boon Edam team integrated the access control system with our RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system. This was a huge help, because it meant that the turnstiles were sending data directly to our existing system," Dowd said.
Michael Fisher, managing director of Boon Edam's subsidiary in Australia, says this impressive project will serve as a new benchmark for local financial institutions. "IMB has set the bar very high with its new Wollongong facility. Each design element has been carefully thought out to be welcoming to visitors and intuitive to employees. We are delighted to have been selected to contribute to the success of this project," said Fisher.
In addition to sleek aesthetics and smart security, IMB sought an entry-level security partner with attentive service throughout the project, and then also in after-sales service.
"The Boon Edam team was very professional to work with and responded adaptively to our needs. Early morning was the best time for installation work, and their service team took care of this need from the beginning, without problems. It was clear that Boon Edam takes great care of its products and that its values as a company were aligned with those of IMB, which are strongly focused on community, family and quality," Dowd said.
