Latin America. Axis Communications highlighted that some of its cameras now comply with ONVIF's Profile M, which opens the door to standardized metadata transmission from local analytics applications in high-end surveillance systems with devices from various vendors.
Profile M compliance makes it easy to integrate metadata with clients that support this profile, such as video management software and services. Customers in the market that are compliant with profile M will be able to query, filter and receive metadata to trigger automatic replies and also save and search for video content of interest.
The initial list of Profile M-compliant Axis products includes AXIS Object Analytics people and vehicle metadata. This list will grow in the future and include more AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) analytics application metadata devices and types.
Profile M is the latest ONVIF profile supported by Axis products. Until now they were compatible with other ONVIF profiles, namely Profiles A and C in access control devices, and Profiles G, S and T in video products. With the addition of Profile M, system integrators and end users have it easier to use Axis products with other ONVIF-compliant customers in a wide range of safety, operational efficiency improvement and smart building management applications.
