International. TRENDnet presents its two new models of 2.5 G unmanaged switches. The 8-port (TEG-S380) and 5-port (TEG-S350) are the latest additions to the brand's family of multi-gigabit network solutions.
Both switches include 2.5 GBASE-T RJ-45 ports that offer users up to 2.5Gbps capacity over existing (or higher) Cat5e cabling. The new 2.5G switches are cost-effective means of increasing network performance and help reduce or eliminate network bottlenecks.
"The world continues to evolve into an increasingly digital place and we are finally witnessing network speeds capable of dealing with the huge volume of data we have collected and need to share on a daily basis," said Evan Davis, Senior Director of Engineering Solutions at TRENDnet. "Today we have wireless 6 routers and access points, as well as storage devices, with higher transfer speeds, which can greatly benefit from network switches capable of higher transfer speeds, thereby reducing bottlenecks and the possibility of having a future-proof network."
These multi-gigabit switches also feature a sturdy metal housing, as well as a fanless design to eliminate annoying operating noises. For greater installation flexibility, the 2.5G switches are conveniently built to be wall-mounted or placed on a desk. These switches are IEEE 802.3bz compliant; they are also compatible with pre-existing hardware technologies. No special configurations are required to connect these switches and for high-speed 2.5G Ethernet network devices.
TRENDnet recently launched its 2.5G PoE+ injector (TPE-215GI), one of the first multi-gigabit PoE+ injectors available on the market. In addition, TRENDnet's multi-gigabit solutions currently also include PCIe network adapters, such as the 2.5 GBASE-T PCIe Network Adapter (TEG-25GECTX) and USB-C to Ethernet adapters, such as the USB-C 3.1 to Ethernet 2.5 GBASE-T (TUC-ET2G) adapter.
