Latin America. The ALAS 360 Virtual Congress was an interactive space that brought together the Latin American security industry in a different space. The event was held on July 28 and 29 and SISSA Monitoring Integral shares its experience.
Beyond a couple of inevitable mishaps (fair price to pay in the face of such a bet on innovation), the first WINGS 360 Virtual Congress fully fulfilled the promise it held throughout its campaign of expectation, immersing us – or connecting, rather – in "an experience close to reality".
Over the course of two days, just over 300 people gathered virtually on a digitally built campus with the sole objective of enriching the security industry on our continent.
Conferences
Through the use of avatars that personified each of the attendees of the event, on Tuesday, July 28 at 9:30 a.m. (Colombia), Alberto Álvarez, CEO of the Latin American Security Association (ALAS), inaugurated a day of keynote lectures presented by various experts and professionals in the field, in order to share with the audience their experiences and knowledge on different fields of security.
Although many of the conferences, as was easy to predict, revolved around covid-19 and various proposals (both technological and of other natures) that aim to add value to the new challenges posed by the new normal, the topics presented in the Galileo Auditorium and in the Neil Armstrong conference room were not limited to exposing solutions related to the unfortunate pandemic crisis.
Such was the case of the conference "White Elephants: an important challenge for the Security Industry" presented by Eng. Isaac Valencia Trejo, General Director of SISSA Monitoring Integral S.A.P.I. de C.V., who addressed one of the great problems that affect countless companies and organizations from different environments for many years.
In the same way, David Pereira reminded us of the importance that the implementation is taking day by day not only of adequate cybersecurity technologies that mitigate risks that can compromise the information and the correct functioning of any organization, but also of new paradigms that allow us to prevent them so as not to depend on reactive actions.
Optimization of infrastructure operation through electromechanical technologies; unification of technologies for the reduction of operating costs in companies; and the development of human capacities such as resilience to face situations of uncertainty in organizations, were some of the numerous topics that were addressed and discussed during the conferences of this great event.
Expo Hall
Although the capacity of the event was centralized most of the time in the Galileo auditorium and in the Neil Armstrong conference room, the real heart of the ALAS 360 Virtual Congress was in the Expo Hall.
During the two days of the event, more than 30 companies with experience in the security industry gathered in a virtual exhibition hall perfectly built and set, giving the more than 300 guests the possibility to establish dialogues, generate relationships and, in the best of cases, enter into negotiations.
WINGS Beach Party
Once the event concluded, at 4:00 p.m. (Colombia), the Latin American Security Association gave us a space for relaxation and peculiar coexistence on the soccer field belonging to the campus, where different awards were made and, in a recognizable effort to provide us with an experience as humanized as possible, several of the organizers and the same participants of the congress showed us some of their talents parallel to the industry of safety, sharing with us their culinary and musical skills.
It is important to highlight the remarkable participation of SISSA Monitoring Integral, a fundamental agent in the industry and Platinum Sponsor of the first ALAS 360 Virtual Congress, an event that has undoubtedly marked a watershed in the Latin American security ecosystem.
