HID Aero platform, new launch of HID Global

International. HID Global announced the launch of its HID Aero platform, which is comprised of state-of-the-art intelligent controllers and open architecture, which increases the options of a wide range of businesses, while protecting their investments in access control solutions, allowing them to respond to future challenges as their requirements change.

"The HID Aero platform is expanding the market by having features typically only offered in solutions for larger organizations, saving recurring expenses and eliminating the complexity associated with panel hardware design, manufacturing and maintenance," said Harm Radstaak. Vice President and Managing Director of Physical Access Control at HID Global. "It also offers end-to-end security for everyday applications, thanks to communication encryption and threat detection, as well as robust features that allow companies to comply with established regulations."

Based on HID Mercury hardware, used in more than four million panels marketed worldwide, the HID Aero platform accelerates development time for access control solution providers by including all required components: hardware, firmware, software and development tools. The following are some of the benefits for users:

• Easy to adapt to evolving needs: users have at their disposal a large selection of access control software providers to install their solutions. Systems can also be easily migrated to new software and have extensive configuration possibilities to dynamically improve environmental recognition.

• Lower installation and maintenance costs: HID Aero features remote management features with HID readers that comply with the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP), among others, its newly launched line of Signo readers, which feature built-in protocol support. This minimizes the need for field inspections and reconfigurations.

• Comprehensive credential-to-host security: HID Aero provides smaller businesses with numerous features typically only offered in enterprise-class solutions, including host and controller authentication, key protection encryption, and advanced threat detection.

• Reliability, proven technology: Based on panel hardware and system technology from the HID Mercury line, durable Aero controllers take up the same space as previous HID VertX® controllers and are backward compatible with HID VertX modules, simplifying upgrades.
