United States. The Latin American Security Association - ALAS - and the magazine Ventas de Seguridad, organizers of the ALAS Management Summit announce that the event scheduled for this year will be held in 2021, on dates to be confirmed.
The new dates for the tenth edition will be announced in the coming weeks. The decision was made after extensive consultation with CLIENTS of the ALAS Summit on the feasibility of the dates initially announced: October 14 and 15, amid the global pandemic.
"2020 generated drastic changes in the way most industries operate, and of course security is no exception," said Alberto Álvarez, CEO of ALAS. "This has generated new challenges that we are facing from different digital strategies, seeking that the market continues to move and that the ties and relationships between the protagonists remain strong," he added.
First reported in Wuhan, China on December 31, 2019, the COVID-19 Coronavirus was declared a pandemic on March 11, 2020. The organization of the ALAS Management Summit, aware of the different measures taken by Latin American governments and health authorities, decided to reschedule the event for 2021, on dates yet to be announced.
"After evaluating the 2020 event landscape globally, we consider this to be the most prudent decision and will aim to arrive in 2021 very strong to celebrate the tenth anniversary of our main event. Meanwhile, we will be very present and will continue to demonstrate the importance of associativity, especially in these times of crisis, "said the CEO of ALAS.
"While we understand that this can cause inconvenience, we consider the health and safety of our exhibitors and participants to be our greatest concern," says Max Jaramillo, show director of La Cumbre ALAS.
The next edition of the WINGS Summit will take place next year and will be the reason to meet again and celebrate the 10th anniversary. See you in 2021!
