United States. Steve Deblock, Executive Vice President of Operations at Nortek Security & Control, sent a statement to all of his customers notifying about potential supply chain delays related to the coronavirus.
"As a domino effect, many companies are experiencing delays and disruptions in the supply chain due to the coronavirus outbreak. The impact on shipping times around the world is expected to vary from days to weeks. We are also experiencing some manufacturing and shipping delays from the affected regions and are writing to assure you that we are closely monitoring the situation and its impact on our manufacturing partners.
The company explains that it has been working hard to minimize disruption for its customers by sharing the actions they have been exercising in response to the situation:
We are working diligently with each of our suppliers to prioritize production scheduling, staff returns, and ensure our customers receive the best possible support.
We are actively managing any affected product lines, offering replacements where available and using safety/buffer stock when we can.
We are working with long lead time suppliers to minimize the impact of the raw material used to build our products.
We are planning closely with key suppliers and partners, as this will likely affect logistics, including container availability, controller availability, and port congestion.
