International. The new company SoundSecure will address the adoption of audio technology in the electronic security industry, with the ultimate goal of combating high rates of false alarms and reducing the frequency of false alarm sending, starting with the SS-700 microphone.
Security industry executive Cameron Javdani this week unveiled his new company with the backing of investors. "I saw a gap in the industry that didn't have a widely available product offering," says Javdani. "If the recent inclusion of sound in the industry is to continue, there needs to be products suitable for the main industry trend," he adds.
According to most estimates, more than 90% of the security alarms received by monitoring centers are fake. Recent information from the Security Industry Association (SIA) and the Monitoring Association (TMA) highlights a growing trend among central stations to incorporate audio functionality into security systems.
This is especially true in commercial and public sector facilities. SoundSecure's product offering begins with the SS-700 microphone designed to fit modern design environments. The product integrates with both analog systems, connecting directly to a DVR, or IP systems, connecting to the cameras, while sending the audio over the network, along with the video.
CCTV systems that include audio thus allow to verify alarms before shipment, collect additional evidence in security eventualities, as well as improve relationships with customers and in business operations.
