International. Johnson Controls has announced that its PowerSeries Pro commercial-grade security system is the first to leverage PowerG's long-range communication technology, plus it is designed to handle large-scale installations.
The system offers encryption technology and high-level cyber protection features without the need to install a wired communication path. The PowerSeries Pro system is designed for commercial use and supports up to 248 zones, making it the ideal solution for warehouses, office buildings, factories and healthcare facilities.
"Previously, we already had systems that were used for commercial applications. However, the PowerSeries Pro system is our first commercial-grade intrusion security panel that can be used in large-scale commercial applications without the need for cables in sensors and keyboards," said Jennifer Doctor, Senior Director of Product Management at Tyco Security Solutions. "We are pleased to launch this new product in the commercial sector. We hope that the increase in zones, coupled with our secure encryption, will give end users the flexibility and reliability they need."
Tyco Security Solutions' PowerSeries Pro system includes integrated 128-bit AES encryption technology, supports multiple integrations with third parties, for example, building management software, as well as access control and video solutions to deliver a versatile holistic business security platform. In addition, frequency hopping spread spectrum technology changes frequencies constantly to minimize interference by radio signals and to prevent interceptions and obstacles during transmission.
This feature is especially useful for commercial integrations, where streams have to travel longer distances and where it's important to plan to combat potential security threats and interference.
As no drills, cables or repeaters are required, there is no drawback in both residential and commercial installations and the system offers all the power and security of a wired connection, only without cables.
