Colombia. Medellín hosted the Sixth Plenary of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (Ipbes 6). The company CongressColombia and the Bosch brand made a successful teamwork within the framework of this event.
CongressColombia was present as a local provider, providing Simultaneous Translation service in six languages using conference microphones and Bosch brand receivers.
Hundreds of leaders from different countries gathered at the Intercontinental Hotel in the city of Medellín, to assess the state of biodiversity and preservation of the planet's natural resources.
Once again, this city was chosen as the venue for this event, considered one of the most important in the world in terms of environment and biodiversity. The Sixth Plenary of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (Ipbes 6) began with the visit of President Juan Manuel Santos. In addition, it was attended by Federico Gutiérrez, mayor of Medellín and the Minister of the Environment, Luis Gilberto Murillo.
CongressColombia, a member of the Medellín Convention & Visitors Bureau, provided simultaneous translation service for this international event. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish were the languages of the countries participating in the meeting. Between the Plenary and the six rooms, more than three hundred parliamentary microphones and one thousand two hundred Bosch infrared digital receivers, eighteen simultaneous translation booths for two and three interpreters (in accordance with the international standard of AIIC for the UN), translation service for streaming in English and Spanish and Bosch word request software were distributed.
The event culminated leaving an enriching balance for the city after having received hundreds of officials and scientists, who enjoyed the excellent paisa scenarios. Thus, the capital of Antioquia, is shown to the world as an optimal host for those who wish to hold events with the best service.
