Latin America. HID Global implemented together with Recognition, a Brazilian company dedicated to the manufacture and integration of banking automation products, the first self-service totem (kiosk) solution with deposit of checks without envelope, in one of the most important banks in Brazil.
As part of a total solution, HID Global's multispectral fingerprint sensors are integrated with Recognition's TRC (Remote Capture Totem) non-CRT (Remote Capture Totem) check deposit technology, which is part of a new product concept: the "Cash Less ATM" that provides all the services integrated into the banks' system, except for cash withdrawal.
Fingerprint sensors with HID Global's patented multispectral technology capture unique features on the surface and subsurface of the skin, providing the most reliable fingerprint capture technology on the market, which works on any type of finger, whether wet, dry, dirty, greased, deteriorated or in any environment, in sunlight, with humidity or cold, the devices work smoothly.
Multispectral imaging technology reads the unique fingerprint characteristics of both the surface and the next layer of finger skin. It also performs a "live fingerprint detection" in real time, comparing the optical characteristics of the material being presented with against the known characteristics of living skin to determine whether the finger is real or fake, the result is excellent and reliable biometric performance. The devices use a higher-rated NIST-certified MINEX III minutia algorithm, interoperable with industry-standard fingerprint databases.
"HID Global's sensors make it possible to increase security for a bank's customers in a highly intuitive way and increase user convenience when interfacing with the bank. Your finger is your PIN." HID Global's biometric sensors with multispectral imaging technology are currently used in financial institutions and government agencies in Latin America creating a more convenient customer experience and increasing the security of banking transactions at management points.
HID Global's biometric technology continues to consolidate as a highly reliable solution for the Latin American banking sector. Some data to take into account are:
- • More than 115 thousand multispectral fingerprint sensors have been implemented in Brazil to protect billions of transactions per year at ATMs, this represents 80% of the ATMs that are used by more than 85 million bank customers.
- • Financial institutions in Chile and Argentina adopted HID Global technology to guarantee pension payments to more than 5 million citizens.
- • HID Global's multispectral fingerprint devices helped eliminate fraud in Mexico's national vaccination program and other health care initiatives that help thousands of citizens without subsidies for medicines and medical assistance.
