Five new models of thermal cameras presented

Latin America. Hanwha Techwin announced the launch of the T series, its new line of thermal cameras consisting of models (TNO-4030T/4040T/4041T/4050T/4051T).

These five new models offer high-performance image quality even in the most extreme weather conditions, such as absolute darkness, and the presence of atmospheric elements, such as fog and smoke, especially at airports and seaports, or in areas where micro dust particles are so heavy that objects cannot be identified.

The new thermal cameras allow recording 30 frames per second with a resolution of 640x480 pixels, providing the best image sharpness and correcting the shadow of the edges of images or objects seen from a long distance, which are usually a frequent problem in conventional thermal cameras. Hanwha Techwin's new models were optimized to monitor outdoor areas, making them ideal for monitoring outdoor areas or for use in urban safety monitoring in places with thick fog, such as seaports and airports, or in environments where objects cannot be identified due to the darkness of the night, snow or rain.

Given the wide variety of lens sizes available, users can also choose an optimal model based on the chosen monitoring range. The TNO-4030T supports a 13mm lens, the 19mm TNO-4040T/4041T models and the 4050T/4051T models support a 35mm lens. This latest model has a reinforced long-distance monitoring function that allows the detection of vehicles at a distance of up to three kilometers.

In addition, WiseStream II, Hanwha Techwin's unique video compression technology, has significantly reduced the cost of the system by efficiently compressing the high-resolution image. The new models also include key features that allow real-time response to an emergency through the sound analysis function, which analyzes the frequencies of the sound source and activates the alarm system when an anomalous sound is detected.

Another impressive feature of the new camera models is their resistance to environments of extreme weather conditions. All new models have an IP66 (dust protection/waterproofing) and NEMA4X (durability degree) standard, making them ideal for any environment with extreme weather conditions. In addition, the TNO-4030T/4040T/4041T models are IK10 (internal impact) certified, which ensures that these thermal cameras are protected against dust, heavy rain and snow and can withstand impacts.

"In the world there is concern about security issues as well as extreme weather conditions mentioned at the Davos Forum. At the same time, the size of the thermal camera market is experiencing steady annual growth," said Hanwha Techwin, adding: "Our new thermal camera models, with their high-resolution image quality, offer exceptional performance in monitoring applications and will undoubtedly set a standard in the global market."

According to IHS Markit, a market research company, the global thermal camera market reached about $370 million in 2017 and is expected to show growth of more than 14 percent of annual growth, eventually reaching $550 million in 2020. This would be the fastest growing sector in the video surveillance market.
