From fire detection to ambient music

International. For a safe night's sleep: Bosch equips the Golden Tower Panama Hotel with a comprehensive security system.

With 285 exclusive rooms and suites offering panoramic views of the city, the 30-story Las Americas Golden Tower Hotel Panama, designed by Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott, is a landmark in the heart of Panama's financial and business district. Its 460-seat auditorium and seven flexible conference rooms including restaurants and bars host illustrious events ranging from the Panama Film Festival to the International Meeting of Economists, to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Panama.

Bosch provided the new hotel with a comprehensive security and protection system that encompasses fire protection, public address system, access control and video security. The goal was the highest security for guests, visitors and staff, with security as discreet and invisible as possible, blending in with the interior design of the rooms and common areas so that it does not interfere with the look and feel of the hotel's generous and luxurious feel. Another requirement for the hotel was to manage the entire system centrally from one platform.

For fire protection, more than 1,000 fire detection sensors were installed in corridors, conference rooms and common areas, all controlled by the Bosch Modular Fire Panel 5000 series.

Also controlled by the central fire panel is a Full Voice Alarm System with 250 speakers, which was integrated into the interior design and distributed among the hotel's common areas, as well as in the corridors and conference spaces. It serves several purposes: playing ambient music, locating guests and, in the case of emergencies, making evacuation announcements.

For video security, 220 Bosch network cameras have been installed: AUTODOME IP 7000 cameras to monitor the perimeter of the hotel, DINION IP bullet 5000 HD cameras for the parking area and inside the hotel FLEXIDOME IP 5000 HD cameras for the corridors. All network cameras are centrally managed via the Bosch Video Management System (BVMS).

Bosch's access control system ensures that only employees and authorized hotel staff can enter restricted areas. The FLEXIDOME IP 5000 HD cameras have been integrated with the access control system to improve security levels by allowing access authorization of hotel staff through video verification.

The complete Bosch safety and security solution can be controlled and managed from a control room thanks to the integration into a single platform: the Bosch BIS building integration system.
