Latin America. Smart Card Alliance Latin America has changed its name to the Digital Innovation Alliance and updated its mission to focus on technology and business services that support the evolution to a digital society. Within its new mission, the organization will expand its reach beyond smart card technology to include additional relevant digital technologies for end users and stakeholders in the payments, mobile, healthcare, identification, transportation and Internet of Things industries.
"Technology is a driving force in how we interact, connect and transact around the world," said Edgar Betts, associate director of the Digital Innovation Alliance. "In this increasingly digital society, we must work on collaboration between different sectors of the industry to develop the necessary frameworks for technology in terms of security, interoperability, convergence and innovation."
The Digital Innovation Alliance will expand SCALA's initiatives by facilitating collaboration among a wide range of stakeholders and helping to support market trends and strategies to guide the industry towards digitalization. The goals and objectives of the organization are:
- · Advocate for the implementation and incorporation of related digital technologies in different sectors influenced by these technologies.
- · To be an unbiased resource of information, providing a forum for collaboration on best practices, industry reports and conferences.
- · Establish training, education and certification programs related to the safe use of digital technologies.
The Digital Innovation Alliance will continue to be a chapter of the Secure Technology Alliance, focused on the Latin American and Caribbean regions.
We invite all those interested in contributing to the development of a digital society to join the Digital Innovation Alliance. For more information on the Digital Innovation Alliance, visit www.thedigitalalliance.org
