Latin America. The Bosch Group will be part of one of the pioneering smart city projects in China: on June 20, the world's leading provider of technology and services signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the city of Tianjin.
The aim of the alliance is to explore the possibilities of implementing the "Smart Tianjin" initiative. Thus, the Chinese port will become a smart city.
Peter Tyroller, Member of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH responsible for the Asia Pacific region, attended the signing ceremony that took place during the Tianjin-Frankfurt Cooperation Forum: "The new Chinese urbanization has put smart city solutions on the map as one of the main drivers of urban development.
Cities need to provide higher levels of comfort, energy efficiency and safety. We are pleased to have the opportunity to offer Tianjin our connected solutions as a way to improve the quality of life and create a more economically efficient city."
With the sensors, software and services that the Bosch Group offers as an IoT (Internet of Things) innovation-oriented company, it is poised to help bring China into the era of smart cities.
