Mexico. Extreme Networks, Inc. announced that, for the third consecutive year, Gartner, Inc. has placed it further to the right in the "Visionaries" quadrant of the "Magic Gartner Magic Quadrant for Wired and Wireless LAN Access Infrastructure" report, released on October 17, 2017.
According to Gartner, "A vendor in the Visionaries Quadrant demonstrates the ability to augment features in its offering to provide a unique and differentiated approach to the market. A Visionary will have innovated in one or more of the key areas of access layer technologies within the enterprise (e.g., convergence, security, management, or operational efficiency). The ability to apply differentiation functionality across the access layer will affect its position."
In addition, of the 21 vendors included in Gartner Peer Insights, Extreme is one of the top-rated vendors in Data Center Hardware Networking. As of October 18, 2017, Extreme has an overall rating of 4.8 out of 5 based on 65 reviews. In the last year since the release of the 2016 Magic Quadrant, Extreme acquired zebra Technologies Corporation's WLAN business as well as Avaya Inc.'s networking business. It intends to complete its third acquisition of Brocade Communications Systems, Inc.'s data center networking business in Q2 of fiscal year 18.
