High resolution with forensic technology in surveillance cameras

Latin America. Axis Communications integrates its innovative Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) forensic technology into new high-resolution network cameras to improve the ability to capture images in difficult light conditions, allowing operators to view different levels of forensic detail in both dark and illuminated areas in parallel.

Axis introduces a series of new network cameras optimized Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology that focuses on achieving high forensic value. WDR is the term used to refer to the function of balancing areas that are highly dark and illuminated -at the same time- within the same scenario.

It is also known as HDR (High Dynamic Range). In the video surveillance industry, the goal is to capture the details at all times. So far, WDR's commercially available capabilities have failed to add enough forensic value to high-resolution cameras or areas that exhibit a high rate of motion. Axis meets this demand through its new portfolio of cameras that integrate this functionality.

"Current WDR methods did not capture the necessary forensic details, especially in high-motion scenarios where high resolution is needed. The optimization of this technology brings several benefits for companies but the main one is the maximum visualization of the images in any type of scenarios, even those with extreme lighting conditions.

In addition, through our new wide range of fixed dome equipment that offers a resolution of 5 megapixels up to 4K, we make this technology accessible to customers with limited resources," explains Francisco Ramírez, Country Manager for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean of Axis Communications.

On the other hand, Axis Communications announces the catalog of network cameras that have WDR forensic technology, including the new equipment for axis P32 and AXIS Q35 series:

  • AXIS P3227-LV
  • AXIS P3227-LVE
  • AXIS P3228-LV
  • AXIS P3228-LVE
  • AXIS Q3517-LV
  • AXIS Q3517-LVE

The new AXIS P32 models offer cameras with excellent cost-benefit ratio and easy installation. These fixed dome devices offer extraordinary video performance with multi-megapixel resolution and frame rate up to 4K. In addition, it includes all the benefits of Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), OptimizedIR and Axis Zipstream technologies.

Finally, AXIS Q35 Network Camera Series delivers unprecedented video surveillance with a broad set of features, including power redundancy. Electronic Image Stabilization capabilities and IK10+ rating make this equipment ideal for harsh environments.

In addition, they cater to the need for multi-megapixel monitoring at full frame rate and with the best video quality on the market. They also integrate Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), OptimizedIR and Axis Zipstream technologies.

The cameras are available through Axis distribution channels.
