Polaris in search of awareness

Argentina. Polaris announced its channel plan during the month of April and now presents its sales plan. Within this framework, the company's sales come in 80% of its channels, and only 20% reserve it for direct sales. Although the channel is dedicated to small and medium power equipment, high power equipment, in many cases the company works. "They are three-phase equipment with powers of more than 30 kva that require a part of engineering that a certain channel does not yet have," said Daniel Vilardebó, sales director of the company.

Given this scheme, the sectors with the highest demand for UPS are finance, construction, industry, and medicine. The latter is divided into the hospital part and the laboratories. "We have received a lot of demand from laboratories. It is a trend that is also reflected in the interior of the country. We know that the Federal Capital and the center of the country concentrate 60% of the economic activity and that a large part of the laboratories are located in this area, but there are laboratories inside that install the blood test part and these are accompanied by a UPS, because it is necessary that the supply is never cut off, " the executive said. In addition to a large amount of equipment that are in demand for CT scanners and other equipment.

Another growing vertical market is finance, as banks require a lot of energy protection in ATMs and data centers. To these is added the industrial area, where applications are much more critical, and therefore requires more robust equipment, in which Polaris already has a large park installed, mainly three-phase UPS.

Also, another booming sector is security that includes cameras and alarms. "This equipment is supported and maintained by UPS, since in case of power outages, everything can continue to be recorded. It is a very sensitive sector," said Vilardebó.

In contrast to these areas that have grown in recent times, the company continues to view the Argentine market with a certain lack of knowledge about the problems that arise after a blackout, peaks or drops in tension. "In general, people become aware when the damage has already been caused and must face the expenses that this entails. Little by little this situation is being reversed but it is a work of awareness that we are doing even together with our distribution channels, "concluded the executive.
