New IP video surveillance program in the cloud in Mexico promoted

Mexico. Axis Communications participates in the project "Connecting Mexico" with technology and security solutions within the reach and tailored to citizens, companies, agencies and public security institutions that contribute to the collaboration, support and complement of  the various actions that are carried out to combat the insecurity of the country.

Currently, there is a growth in the demand for video surveillance services driven by global concerns regarding insecurity and the need to implement new technologies to combat it. According to a study conducted by IHS, the growth expectation of the IP-based video surveillance market for 2019 is 24% worldwide since companies, governments and security entities have been able to verify the multiple benefits that these technologies bring to the well-being and competitiveness of businesses and people.

Against this background, Axis Communications announces its active participation in the project  "Connecting Us Mexico", through the development of a new public security program called "Security in Cloud Computing" that allows the authorities to monitor the video recordings of security cameras more efficiently the moment a user activates the panic button in an emergency situation. With this proposal, axis' vision with Warder,  the channel that implements the cloud video surveillance solution in monitoring centers, the authorities can provide immediate and adequate response to incidents, emergencies and criminal events.

The cloud IP video surveillance solution uses new efficient and scalable technologies including: network cameras, video encoders, network video recorders, audio, video management software, analytics and physical access management.

Although it has been proven worldwide that video surveillance systems are a valuable tool for combating crime and reducing it, until now the high investment costs for the authorities limited their implementation and use. However, currently, public bodies have realized that instead of having hundreds of cameras installed with limited functionality, IP video surveillance in the cloud opens the possibility of exponentially multiplying efficiency, enabling efficient monitoring to guarantee preventive, immediate and adequate responses to incidents and situations of possible danger. In this way, residences, industries, gas stations, banks, shops, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, bars and liquor stores can be protected against any event in a preventive and efficient way.

"With this proposal, Axis Communications provides all the advantages of security solutions that help prevent crime and help law enforcement solve cases to ultimately help create a smarter and safer Mexico. The real and perceived effectiveness of surveillance cameras in deterring criminal actions is one of the main reasons why citizens increasingly approve of the use of these systems in public spaces," says Francisco Ramírez, Country Manager for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
