Present software for the largest implementation of smart cards

International. Millions of government employees and contractors log into their computers, access government networks and enter buildings securely, thanks to the world's largest deployment of smart cards and the use of desktop authentication software provided by HID Global.

With HID technology, attempts to breach government systems are better detected and blocked. One such technology is the Credential Management System (CMS), which complies with all relevant HID regulations and has been shown to significantly reduce the number of penetrations into government networks.

A Western Hemisphere government customer currently has 3.5 million active smart cards for state employees and contractors. This government smart card facility, the largest deployment of integrated physical and digital identification technologies, is based on HID's ActivID® authentication software, as well as the card management system for digital IDs.

HID Global has eliminated the risk of using a username and password to connect to computers and networks, supported a highly secure process for issuing credentials (cards) with the highest quality FARGO printers, and demonstrated that cryptographic access is the most secure way to create, manage and use identities in both the physical and cyber environments.

"Governments rely on HID Global for ID management and authentication. HID brings reliability to the process of accessing government resources when it is essential to know the exact identity of each person on a network or in a building," said Brad Jarvis, vice president and executive director of HID Global's Identity and Access Management Solutions (IAM) unit. "The good reputation hid has earned among government customers is due not only to the card management system, but also to the quality of the software, user authentication services, cards and readers. HID supports a greater number of trusted electronic transaction applications and provides a wider range of trusted identification technologies than any other provider."

HID's decades-long track record in the identity and access management systems of many governments, which has now been decades old, its track record of complying with government regulations around the world, and its integrated solutions to protect government resources – physical, digital and other – have made HID Global the first choice for security-conscious customers. In addition, the services of this manufacturer help customers reduce risks.
