ACTI Held Annual IT Industry Dinner

Chile. Last Tuesday, June 21, the Annual Dinner of ACTI was held, an event that brought together representatives of the different sectors of the Information Technology industry in Chile and government authorities.

Under the premise "the digital economy is impacting the development of Chile", the Annual ACTI Dinner was held, organized by the Association of Information Technology Companies A.G. The event brought together more than 300 people from the country's Technology and Telecommunications industry, government and private organizations and entities and representatives of the media in Chile and was held at the W Hotel.

On this occasion he said goodbye and thanked the work of Carlos Busso Vyhmeister, outgoing President of ACTI, who was in charge for 2 years.

Meanwhile, Raúl Ciudad De La Cruz, President for this period, took office and delivered the main guidelines of his management, an opportunity which he took advantage of to emphasize the need to boost digital productivity and thus find routes to growth. "As ACTI, we will work on 4 main axes, which will be based on the development of permanent institutions, investment in ICT, R + D + i and a vast infrastructure in broadband," he said.

On the occasion, the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Andrés Gómez-Lobo, participated, who indicated that Chile is in a privileged position with respect to other countries in the region with respect to telephone and mobile network penetration, and where he also pointed out that "it is important to reduce the digital divide of all, regardless of their social status or where they live. This, based on a vision of the State regarding connectivity at the country level".

On the other hand, the Undersecretary of Finance, Alejandro Micco, explained that "the growth of the country goes through improving productivity and incorporating technology into all our production processes."

In the same context, at the beginning of the evening an overture video was presented that brought together, in an audiovisual way, those key aspects of the industry, ratifying that information technologies translate into opportunities for society. In addition, the different challenges of ICT and its contribution to the improvement of productivity, the sustainable growth of the industries of the sector and the need to mitigate the gaps of Human Capital specialized in Information Technologies were addressed, in order to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Digital Revolution.
