Colombia. The Concessionaire of the Road Development of La Sabana – Devisab – has awarded Indra the contract for the technological renovation of three toll plazas and the control center of the road that connects the municipalities of Chía, Mosquera, Girardot and Soacha, for an amount of 2.2 million euros and an execution period of 14 months.
Specifically, Indra will implement toll and electronic toll systems for 21 collection lanes in the toll plazas of Tebaida, Mondoñedo and the Ramal to the municipality of Soacha, in the section of this 159-kilometer road that runs through the department of Cundinamarca from north to south, west of Bogotá.
The solution includes an innovative toll management system, developed by Indra, which will facilitate the economic management of users, accounts, means of payment and generation of reports. Indra will also implement the video surveillance system through closed circuit television (CCTV) in toll booths, a license plate recognition system and signage, among other systems.
This project consolidates Indra's position as a technological partner in the infrastructure sector of Colombia, where it has implemented its intelligent technology for traffic management and public transport in Medellín and is equipping the 18 tunnels of the Bogotá-Villavicencio dual carriageway with its traffic management and tunnel control technology, among other projects. In the field of tolls, the roads of Devinorte, Los Llanos, the concession of distributed tolls of Odinsa for the Invias and the Coffee Highways already have Indra's technology in Colombia.
