Colombia. The newly inaugurated mayor of Bogotá, announced that the city will have a modern command and control center where security and emergencies of the entire capital will be monitored.
"This center will allow us to make an effective control of the territory from a single place, both in terms of security and emergencies. The idea is that all entities can work in an articulated way in the same space," explained the mayor of Bogotá, Enrique Peñalosa.
Regarding the center, the new Undersecretary of Security, Daniel Mejía, said that this project is expected to be ready during the current administration.
"In this center will be integrated all the response agencies to crimes and emergencies, such as the Civil Defense, Firefighters, Ambulances, Police, Prosecutor's Office, among others and will become the best in Latin America," said Mejía.
Finally, the official said that taking as a reference the cost of the Control Center of Ibagué, which was worth 30,000 million pesos, that of Bogotá would require an investment close to 80,000 million.
