Milestone Systems, the open platform video management software (VMS) company, has completed testing and documentation certifying that Microsoft Azure StorSimple 8000 series hybrid cloud storage (HCS) is fully compatible with all XProtect® software applications and services. In this integration, Microsoft Azure hosts Milestone's XProtect® video management software.
The Microsoft Azure public cloud consists of a growing group of integrated services that facilitate both StorSimple 8000 series hybrid cloud storage and cloud computing, networking, storage features, and application options. StorSimple is an enterprise SAN (Storage Area Area Network) storage solution that combines hybrid on-premises storage with Azure storage to provide, in a single solution, integrated primary storage, data protection, and compute disaster recovery.
Validation of the integrated solution was carried out within the framework of Milestone's Technology Partners (MTP) program. StorSimple is able to support Milestone's XProtect® components and connect them to Azure storage for both live and archived databases. Additionally, with an Azure subscription it is possible to access various service levels of the connection options, support possibilities and storage services of the Virtual Private Network (VPN).

The StorSimple 8000 series is economical, feature optimized data compression and duplication elimination, automatic stratification, automated daily backups and redundancy. Video data can be sent to the cloud and it is possible to instantly reconstitute video information in Azure to speed up review, so that analysis and decision making are faster.
All of Milestone's XProtect® applications and services can be hosted in the cloud, storing video securely, either off-site or on a second level within the customer's premises.
Milestone solution certification for IT infrastructure components is achieved through rigorous testing to assess the compatibility of third-party IT units with XProtect® software. Through the process, the server, storage, and network components are validated and documented to meet the performance parameters required to support the Milestone VMS and the maximum performance available to customers is measured.
