Axis expands its channel network in Colombia

Colombia. A group of 53 national companies began this year to offer products and solutions from the manufacturer Axis Communications, a Swedish company, world leader in IP video.

The interest in exploring the electronic security market with the offer of sales or rental services of high quality digital cameras is a global trend in 2015, to which the country is no stranger.

A study recently published by IHS, an independent consultant specializing in research and analysis, shows that the global video surveillance market is expected to grow by approximately 16% over the next four years.

The study also announces that Axis Communications remains a leader in the Americas. In the first half of this year, Axis achieved a 20% growth in net sales worldwide compared to the same period in 2014.

This registration has led to more companies acting in the video surveillance sector. In Colombia, the new canals are present in the cities of Bogotá, Medellín, Barranquilla, Cartagena,  Yopal and Cali, as well as in the departments of Santander and Quindío. In Venezuela and Ecuador, the number of Axis Communications partners  has also increased.

Alessandra Faria, Axis' director for South America, attributes the interest of Colombian companies in selling the brand to bringing a new technology to the country. "The electronic security industry continues to grow. This is the time for resale channels or IT integrators working in the field of networks or telecommunications, to extend their reach and increase their profits. Working with video surveillance projects is a good solution to expand the business, and Axis offers all means of support for this, including technical training," says the director.

Axis Communications held in Bogotá this week, another course on the fundamentals of network video surveillance. These trainings, held periodically, allow companies to understand how to work with digital cameras to explore the market and increase business opportunities. The next one is scheduled between September 1 and 3, 2015, in Bogotá.

In early 2016, Axis  will begin construction of its new headquarters in the city of Lund, Sweden. The initiative is part of the growth plans for the coming years, which focuses on research and development, in collaboration with the local academic community.
