Remote video surveillance and residential alarms for safe holidays

Mexico. The summer holidays have arrived. Students at all levels completed school cycles and parents took on the task of preparing leisure trips in and out of the country. But it's important for travelers to take certain key steps to keep their home safe, while sunbathing.

Basic preventive measures can make a difference in preventing burglaries. How to achieve this? Through the use of electronic security technology such as IP video surveillance systems, alarms and access control. Roberto Rivera Mier, Director of Institutional Relations of Tyco Integrated Fire & Security, mentions that in Mexico a large sector of society reduces the time of their vacations because it does NOT have any security system and when going for a walk families carry with them a great uncertainty regarding the integrity of their assets.

This concern should be a thing of the past thanks to IP technology, since you can count on an advanced video surveillance system at a low cost, in addition to these products can be installed easily and have the versatility that you can monitor the accesses, interiors and perimeter of the properties remotely from a cell phone, tablet or laptop.

"In our country there are many providers of IP video surveillance solutions, which offer smart cameras for medium and small home or business environments such as miscellaneous, offices, factories, restaurants, hotels, warehouses or self-service stores, which offer excellent image quality and professional level surveillance. The added value of these products are the delivery of live or recorded images and even have HD image quality, "says the manager.

ADT, a subsidiary company of Tyco Integrated Fire & Security, continues and recognizes the efforts that the country's public security agencies undertake in holiday seasons, for example the operation "Summer Vacations 2015" of the Secretariat of Public Security of the Federal District (SSPDF), which was implemented on July 14 and for which 20,584 police officers participate, who will be responsible for the physical and patrimonial security of inhabitants and visitors of the capital city to avoid crimes such as theft from home room, passerby, vehicle and account holder.

In this regard, ADT maintains a collaboration agreement with the SSPDF and maintains in its Monitoring Center a 24/7 operation, with a hundred employees, who attend the calls for help from users of residential and commercial alarms. "The use of technology is definitely a deterrent to the commission of crimes during the absence of people in real estate. Unfortunately, homes or businesses that do not have security devices today become the perfect 'whites' for criminals," says Rivera Mier.

Recommendations:

- If you have an alarm monitoring service, notify your security company before going on vacation and make sure that all your personal data as well as emergency contacts are up to date.

- Inform your trusted neighbors of your plans to go on vacation so they can inform you in case you observe anything unusual.

- Check again that all windows and doors have been locked and secured before leaving home.

- Try to have good lighting outside your home or business, it is also recommended to have a lighting sensor.

- Publicidad -

- Do not leave tools such as ladders or external shovels, as they can be used to enter your home.

- Clear signage indicating that you have security services also helps deter thieves.

- Do not comment on your absence to unknown people (shopkeeper, garbage collector, water and gas dispensers, among others).

- Avoid announcing that you are going on vacation, especially on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
