With its two 6MP, light-sensitive sensors and two lenses, the Mobotix M15D camera not only generates excellent color videos, but also high-contrast black and white videos in low-light environments. Electronic switching between the day and night system is performed automatically according to light conditions and without moving parts, making it safe under any temperature and weather conditions.
With a weatherproof housing with IP66 grade, it has integrated automatic recording on an SD card, a secure motion analysis (MxActivitySensor) with alarm warning, a microphone, a speaker and measurement of the ambient temperature.
The M15D meets IP66 specifications for a temperature range of -30°C to 60°C. It requires no additional cooling or heating, not even a companion housing and only requires about 5 watts for full operation.
The technology of the 6MP moonlight sensor undoubtedly represents an important feature (3072 x 2048pxs.), as it determines the quality of a security camera and this is the sensitivity to light. A very high light sensitivity means short exposure times, resulting in fewer blurred movements. This makes it easier to evaluate safety-relevant material, making details visible without the need for expensive additional lighting.
The MxActivitySensor is a software image analysis function, controlled by activities to detect movements of people and objects in a monitored area (in the entire image or part of it). Unlike existing video motion detectors that detect all incidents in defined motion windows, the MxActivitySensor is very easy to configure and offers reliable results even in applications with a large amount of external interference.
For example, the camera distinguishes between movements of vehicles, people or objects that trigger an alarm and non-relevant movements to trigger an alarm such as shadows, changes in lighting, movement of trees with the wind or rain that hits the lenses.
