Boon Edam holds technical training meetings for integrators in Latin America

Latin America. With the aim of strengthening Boon Edam's technical training program in Latin America, the Dutch company held two training meetings for the first time in the region, which took place between June 1 and 5 in Peru and Colombia. In each of these events, the Boon Edam technical certification program was covered and in parallel, the commercial exhibition supported by Ameristar, the largest manufacturer of ornamental safety barriers in the world.

With a total attendance of 85 people, which included integrators, contractors, architecture and engineering firms, representatives of 45 companies from different countries in the region, the meetings enjoyed a great reception in the region. "The event in Lima received people from Chile and Ecuador, while visitors from different cities in Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama came to Bogota," said Jeannette Sweatt, Business Development Manager for South America, Central America and the Caribbean at Boon Edam Inc.

The executive stressed that the decision to organize these meetings in Latin America was made mainly because the company is aware that "traveling to the plant in North Carolina to receive technical training can be quite expensive for Latin American integrators, so we decided that it would be a great idea to bring the training to our customers in the region." Peru and Colombia were chosen for being among the largest markets for the company, "where we see many opportunities."

Although the main objective of the events was technical training, Boon Edam joined forces with Ameristar, which is looking to enter the region through distributors and integrators, to conduct the sales exhibition in parallel to the Boon Edam trainings.

"It is important to highlight that this training was very similar to the one offered in North Carolina, with the difference that in the United States are all the company's equipment, while in Peru and Colombia the attendees knew only the Speedlane 300 tourniquet," Sweatt explained and added that all attendees received technical certification and certificates of participation in the event, in addition to participating in the draw for a Speedlane 300 turnstile.

The training program during the two events was led by Sam Nussman, Technical Support Specialist for Latin America, who is responsible for managing all support processes for the region from Boon Edam's headquarters in Lillington, North Carolina.

Finally, Sweatt highlighted that one of the aspects that most favorably impressed the attendees was the presence of different members of the Boon Edam team for Latin America during the event, such as Magdalena Reyes, Business Development Manager for Northern Mexico and Greg Schreiber, Vice President of Sales. In addition, he assured that thanks to the positive response of the attendees, Boon Edam will again hold meetings of this type quarterly in different countries of the region.
