Colombia. Axis Communications has improved its range of video surveillance technologies for offices and small businesses. Any establishment that requires a maximum of 16 security cameras can now use the free Axis Camera Companion 3 software, an updated version that makes it easy to set up the cameras.
The package has also been enhanced with the release of axis Surveillance microSDXC Card, specific for storing video surveillance recordings.
At 64GB, AXIS Surveillance microSDXC makes video storage more efficient and reliable. The new high-performance card combines technology from SanDisk, a world leader in flash storage, with Axis' extensive experience in security systems. "Working with Axis guarantees us an insider's view of the needs and requirements in surveillance applications, allowing us to improve the quality of our products for this use," says Oded Sagée, senior director and general manager of SanDisk's IT Solutions area.
By recording images inside the camera itself, small business owners eliminate the risks and costs of central storage: there is no need to buy DVRs or any other recording device, which in many cases are destroyed or stolen by criminals.
The new version of AXIS Camera Companion simplifies installation by making it unnecessary to manually redirect ports and configure the router. This makes it easy to create encrypted communication between cameras and computers or smartphones.
"The ease of image encryption is critical to protecting systems against unauthorized access attempts," said Marcelo Ponte, Marketing Manager at Axis Communications. "The new version of the free software, associated with the launch of the memory card optimized for video surveillance applications, should encourage small entrepreneurs to adopt an IP video system."
