South-Southeast Mexico to Invest Heavily in Security

Mexico. Before the announcement of more than 10 billion dollars that the government of the Republic will invest in the south-southeast region of Mexico, the Secretary of Public Security of Oaxaca (SSPO), Alberto Esteva Salinas, toured the region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec to give the starting flag to the "armor" of security to guarantee the application of these resources.

The head of the SSPO announced that in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec the detonation of the Interoceanic Corridor is being promoted with investment in the wind, energy and hydrocarbon industries, which will give certainty to the social security of the private initiative and the Isthmian peoples.

Alberto Esteva, also toured wind farms installed in this area to witness the mode of operation and the forms of control that could be integrated for their protection in terms of security of the Isthmus region.

This shield consists of the construction of the Control and Command Center called -C2-, whose investment exceeds 222 million 58 thousand 520 pesos, in which 264 video surveillance cameras will be installed in 82 strategic points of 15 localities of the Isthmus region.

Juchitán, Chahuites, Ixhuatán, Niltepec, Zanatepec, Tapanatepec, Tehuantepec, Espinal, Ciudad Ixtepec, Ixtaltepec, María Lombardo, Matías Romero, La Ventosa, Salina Cruz and Palomares, will be the communities and municipal capitals that will be monitored in real time once the C2 is installed.

The C2, will be located on land in Juchitán, in which equipment and units will be installed with the latest in the technological vanguard, which will reinforce the security and surveillance of the 42 municipalities that encompass the Isthmian region, that is, they will shield security to 600 thousand people.

"It is planned that the alerts will be activated through the emergency services 066 and the anonymous complaint to 089, there will be a joint coordination between elements of the federal police, Secretary of National Defense, Navy, State Investigation Agency, municipal police, State Institute of Civil Protection and the Heroic Fire Department as well as rescue units, that is, all corporations are ready to guarantee security to all Isthmians," the representative told local media.

Finally, he pointed out that within this shielding, training in the field of prevention is also included to security elements through courses and workshops, which will last three days.
