Security services are equivalent to 0.82% of Colombian GDP

altColombia. One of only one of the items of security in Colombia, the surveillance and private security services, have a weight of 0.82% in the Colombian gross domestic product, GDP. What in income for entrepreneurs in the sector is equivalent to 4.9 billion pesos per year.

 
The figures recorded by the Superintendence of Surveillance and Private Security on its website show that from 2007 to 2011 there has been a sustained growth of this subsector of security.
 
According to the Supersecuridad the participation of surveillance and private security in the GDP the annual data are:

The director of the International Security Fair E + S + S, Patricia Acosta Zuleta, which will be held from October 9 to 11 at the Corferias Bogotá venue, indicated that security services are just one part of the strategy that entrepreneurs have to make their businesses sustainable; even parodying President Santos, he points out "without security there is no prosperity."
 
Acosta Zuleta revealed that the E+S+S, International Segurity Fair: Efficiency +Security +Safety, has been developed for 19 years, and that in 2013 it will be done jointly with the International Business and Exhibition Center, Corferias.
 
In its thirteenth edition, E+S+S will have 300 exhibitors, among which are representatives from Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Canada, Spain, the United States, Korea, China, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Uruguay and Colombia, gathered in a commercial sample of 12,000 m2.
 
The fair will carry out all the technological launches, in terms of security, for South America, such as physical, electronic, computer and industrial security, as well as technical commercial conferences and security forums by economic sectors.
