Colombia. A total of 30 security cameras will begin to operate in a month in various sectors of the municipality of El Cerrito, Valle del Cauca, as part of the program to improve comprehensive surveillance in this population.
Alternately, the center where the center will operate from where the different actions will be coordinated in pursuit of control and security of the city were announced, according to local mayor Mauricio Martínez Prado.
According to the president, for the execution of the project the Nation invested through the Ministry of the Interior $ 1,080 million (US $ 600 thousand), while the Municipal Administration did so with $ 120 million (US $ 66 thousand), for a total of $ 1,200 million (US $ 666 thousand), which seeks to improve security levels in this population.
The cameras of this new closed circuit television will be located throughout the urban area of the municipality of El Cerrito and have a range capacity of 400 meters, with service 24 hours a day.
During this first stage, the formal delivery of the equipment was made to start the trial period of the technological and operational part, in the hope that at the end of next month they will be delivered to the service of the community by the Ministry of the Interior.
