Mexico. The governor of the state of Puebla, Rafael Moreno Valle, announced that by the end of the year the largest investment in video surveillance equipment will be made, with the acquisition of more cameras for the capital of Puebla, as reported in the framework of the beginning of the certification process of the municipality of Puebla as a Safe Community.
Mayor Eduardo Rivera Pérez, without going into details, added that the areas where the video surveillance cameras will be installed, will be common areas and citizen concentration, in addition to the Los Fuertes-cathedral Tourist Corridor. He said that mobile and fixed cameras, as well as plate reading equipment, will be acquired as part of the project of more than 170 devices for the following year.
During the presentation, Moreno Valle stressed that the certification as a Safe Community will promote the development of the entity to attract more resources and increase tourism in the capital, explaining that Puebla will be the fourth city in the country to obtain it, since only Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Cuautitlán and Cuajimalpa have it.
In this regard, he said that he instructed his security cabinet to work in coordination with the municipal government, to achieve this recognition and conclude the process before the month of March 2013 prior to the Tourism Tianguis.
