Mexico. Naucalpan is home to the first plant in Mexico that develops technology for contactless card payments; card personalization; authentication and traceability of animals.
It was inaugurated in August of this year and in a first stage created 200 direct jobs, it is expected that by the end of the year when the shifts are full they will reach more than 400 jobs.
Omar Pelcastre Cario, manager of Animal ID & RFID solutions at Inteligensa Mexico, said that in this plant processes are carried out for three innovations, the first is personalization of bank cards, from the chip, the magnetic stripe, the user's name and the envelope.
The second process is the manufacture of electronic identifiers, and points out that it is the first in Mexico, where earrings are manufactured to identify cows, sheep and other animals, based on international standards. This process helps in traceability, that is, it identifies among thousands of heads of cattle, which are underweight, sick, which have been vaccinated, which are of childbearing age and keep track of the information electronically, with the aim of bringing quality meat to both Mexican consumers and the countries that are exported.
And finally, RFID (radio frequency identification) electronic devices are developed, a microsystem formed by an antenna and a chip, used in metro cards, metrobus and that begins to be used in some bank cards. They work by bringing the card closer to a terminal to pay for a product or service.
