Mexico. As part of the Safe School Program, the City of Reynosa installed 180 surveillance cameras in the city's basic education schools, which reduced the rate of theft of equipment and wiring in the facilities.
The good results made, therefore it was decided to place 50 more cameras that will allow to have covered all the educational institutions of the basic level.
Martín Quintero Camero, coordinating councilor of the Education Commission announced the above, adding that although the criminals were not arrested, a significant decrease in vandalism that occurred in schools in the holiday seasons was achieved.
He concluded by indicating that the placement of the 50 surveillance teams in preschool, primary and secondary institutions is expected to be completed by October.
