Colombia. The project to install security cameras in buses and shops as an effective mechanism to reduce the rate of robberies will be financed with private capital; the District of Barranquilla will only be responsible for providing the CAD and the CAI with the necessary elements to give an immediate response when the alert system is activated.
This was assured by the company Nuovo Security, explaining that this initiative does not intend to generate a concession contract or a monopoly in the provision of the service that was agreed with the District Administration.
"Our proposal is based on a business model with a hundred percent private investment, and in no case will the local administration assign us licenses, contracts, concessions or other figures that imply monopoly, exclusivities or other considerations," the company said in a communication.
The company Nuovo Security (suppliers of cameras and software) explained that the perception of security and tranquility of citizens will be improved, because there will be permanent surveillance on routes and critical areas.
The equipment includes the panic button, which when pressed transmits the alert to the Automatic Police Dispatch Center, begins to record and initiates the management of the alarm. The process first starts on the server of the company Nuovo Security, which automatically returns a call to the user who pressed the panic button, and if at that time does not answer it tries again.
Simultaneously, the CAI that corresponds to the quadrant where the crime happens will also be alerted and will receive the images of the offender, the company assures.
