Peru. Video surveillance cameras will be increased to 400 at the end of August at Metropolitano stations in order to guarantee internal and external security, said the manager of Information Technology of Pro Transporte, Juan Huertas.
The official noted that currently, all stops are covered with about 125 cameras only on the external front with 360-degree vision.
It should be remembered that one of the cameras of the Central Station captured precisely when, at the beginning of July, a passenger was chasing a subject whom she had surprised in unseemly attitudes inside one of the buses. The man was subsequently taken into custody by a policeman.
And just last week, another individual was caught by two young men committing impudent acts at the Javier Prado station. Which will certainly help improve the safety levels of this popular transportation system.
