Mexico. The Merik Academy will be the first of its kind in Latin America and will provide training in automation and access control at the national level and to people from other countries.
In Mexican territory there are more than 3,000 companies dedicated to automation and access control, a number that continues to grow due to the potential of this niche market, a situation that gave the Merik Academy the possibility of offering 10 certifications within the residential, industrial and autotransport areas.
"The Merik Academy is unique in its kind in Latin America and represents a technological advance in the face of the increasing demand and presence of automation in offices, airports, shopping centers, parking areas and smart buildings," said engineer Carlos Rojas, general director of the institution.
"In our country the level of automation is lower than in the United States, Canada and Europe. Only 15% of households have some type of automatic mechanism," said Rojas, who also added that "with a sustained growth in the automation and access control market of 20% per year, the need to train technicians within this market segment has become imperative."
The Merik Academy will increase the professionalism and productivity of automation installers. To do this, interactive videos have been developed specialized in each of the certifications based on the Solid Works Software and the State of the Art team, allows a transfer of knowledge in a dynamic and interactive way.
The requirements to enter the academy are: to have a minimum experience of two years in the field; belong to the IDA (International Door Association) and pass a course in mechanics and basic electricity.
"The goal is for certified technicians to comply with the Japanese concept established in manufacturing 'good at the first time'; since a facility in which it is necessary to return because something went wrong, generates higher costs and loss of credibility, "said Rojas.
