United States. The City of Monroe, New York, Police Department installed cameras from the company Arecont Vision to help ensure the safety of its police station, protect the department from liability claims and monitor prisoners.
The installation included megapixel cameras and panoramic equipment of the company, which included, for example, cameras of the reference AV8185DN SurroundVideo, which were located at the front and back entrance of the building.
These devices offer an image that spans 180°, allowing a single piece of equipment to be used instead of multiple standard resolution cameras to cover the same area.
Inside the police station, AV2155DN MegaDome equipment was installed in the area of corridors and cells. These types of cameras offer six times the resolution of a standard IP camera for video surveillance of 24 frames per second, in addition to the day/night function guarantees high quality images of the area of the cells even when the ceiling lights are turned off at night.
"The installation of this system in the Police Department offers us high-quality video, allowing us to analyze and verify any suspicious activity. It's a very effective tool for our department," said Detective Jim Frankild.
For their part, the directors of Arecont Vision, stressed that the solutions offered by the company reduced the costs of the installation for the Department, because thanks to the technology they have the number of cameras that was needed was much lower.
