Argentina. After obtaining very good results with the first cameras installed, the city of Rosario will reinforce its video surveillance system incorporating 84 more cameras. The measure, which will enable the installation of four wireless cameras on the coast and 80 in different parts of the city, including some shopping centers, will be launched at the end of this month of January.
According to official statistics from the Rosario Surveillance Center, in the first six months, the system detected 534 misdemeanors and contraventions, 113 crimes, 29 accidents and 119 traffic interruptions.
The devices will be located in the west, northwest, north and central district centers. Among the main places are: the coast of Rosario, Fluvial Station, Alberdi hospitals, Clemente Álvarez Emergency Hospitals, Carrasco, Víctor Vilela and Roque Sáenz Peña. In addition, there will be cameras in Mendoza and United Provinces, Pellegrini and Peru, Avellaneda at its intersection with Travesía, Junín and Carballo, Nansen and Gurruchaga, and the former Godoy and Felipe Moré. Also, in the open-air shopping centers, among other sites.
"The balance of the first six months of the 20 security cameras initially installed is very positive, and that is why it was determined to expand the system," said Patricio Campbell, director of the Rosario Surveillance Center.
