Colombia. During the guided technical tour of the new facilities of Specialized Centers of San Vicente Foundation, located in Rionegro, east of Medellín, Colombia, attendees at TECNOEDIFICIOS 2011 had the opportunity to see the details of its construction, facilities, technology and general operation.
During the visit, attendees were able to appreciate that this building fulfills the purpose of operating under efficiency parameters, since they have different technologies and designs designed to save energy, reduce water consumption, increase safety and improve its operation through automation with control and administration systems in their installed solutions.
As explained by the engineer Diego Uribe, who was the person in charge of guiding the visitors of TECNOEDIFICIOS 2011, this new construction, which was only inaugurated on October 10, will offer the highest standards of care and safety for its patients, since under the accreditation of the Joint Commission International, it will have the Leed certification as an entity committed to sustainability and the environment, in addition, it was declared a special permanent free zone.
During the visit it was also possible to know the implementation of 217 native IP color fixed cameras. In addition automation and control systems, and the inclusion of subsystems such as integration through EBI Software, fire detection and alarm system that includes four XLS3000 panels and remote announcers, fully integrated UL with EBI. As well as the access control and security system that includes controllers from Honeywell's STAR II line and a large number of field peripherals such as proximity readers, which are part of the technology that complements the operation of the hospital.
Those attending the visit were also able to appreciate from the hand of the engineer Uribe, that the building has a system of supervision and control of basic services such as lighting, electrical, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems, through a central controller and a large number of field controllers of the Honeywell Alerton line.
Likewise, the engineer Diego Uribe told the attendees of TECNOEDIFICIOS 2011 that this building is one of the most technological in Latin America, and that its construction took about two years.
