United States. A training committee for the creation of a standard model focused on the maturity of business recovery has been announced by ASIS International. This initiative seeks the development of a national paradigm: Organizational Resilience Maturity Model–Phased Implementation, which will be based on ANSI/ASIS Organizational Recovery: security, community systems management and preparedness.
The new standard (Organizational Resilience (OR) Standard) will be implemented by organizations in a phase of approach to the model. The maturity of this project will help companies assess where they stand, in terms of resistance management and preparedness, create goals to know where they want to go, how the objectives relate and chart a path forward.
Likewise, the standard will serve as the basis for the establishment of defined levels for recognition programs for the achievement and maintenance of resistance criteria.
Marc Siegel, chair of the Organizational Resilience Maturity Model Standard Committee, and the ASIS Global Standards Initiative, explained that the phased approach recognizes that resilience must be achieved in a balance between an organization's business needs, including its financial and time constraints. This is achieved by building a system that continues to improve, grow and mature.
